GOOD BOYS 3 – The #1 Trilogy for Dog Lovers is Complete!

If anyone had asked me two years ago, if I thought I’d ever write a novel about–

(SPOILERS AHEAD – If you haven’t read Book 1 or Book 2 yet. What the heck are you doing here?! Go grab those, read them, and then come back.)

–talking dogs from space, I’d have laughed and said, “ludicrous.” Then I’d probably have thought about it some more…and some more…and then started asking what people thought of the concept, expecting them to laugh and say “ludicrous!”

But this is exactly how GOOD BOYS came to be. Alex Maddern, a cat person, weirdly enough, pitched the concept while we were gaming. It was a fun idea despite his take being more about dogs being gross and dumb. My first thought was that he was bonkers.

But then the seed he planted began to grow and I started asking other people what they thought of my refined take on the idea…and was surprised when everyone loved it. Feeling energized from the very positive response, I dove into Book 1 and fell in love. The standalone novel quickly became a trilogy and I spent an entire year writing about doggos. It was probably the most fun I’ve had as a writer and was made even better because as I was writing a story about Grover the Golden Retriever, I was also raising the actual Grover the Golden Retriever.

Every chapter of these books was written with Grover by my side, sometimes sleeping, sometimes gnawing on my arm. And I’m happy to say that my relationship with the actual Grover is an accurate reflection of Micah and Grover in the novels. We both are our calmest when we’re together, and are largely inseparable. If you have a pet-friend in your life–even a cat–these books, more than anything, are a celebration of how our furry friends change our lives. If you haven’t read them yet, pick up all three and join the party!

GOOD BOYS

Sometimes when writing a novel, you get to the end and think one of two things. “I’m glad that’s over,” or, “I wish that didn’t have to end.” For the most part, I’m an option two kind of guy. I have a long list of novel worlds I’d like to keep exploring, BUT I also come from an art background and “knowing when to stop” is an important lesson.

Continuing with a story, or characters, until reaching that “I’m glad that’s over,” stage is a disservice to the story, and to readers. I’m happy to report that GOOD BOYS has introduced a third option. A Goldilocks Zone of novel writing that is neither too much, nor too little, but just right. Finishing the trilogy was like having the perfect amount of dessert after a full course meal and just feeling…satisfied, with a smile on my face. I hope you feel the same! Let’s get to it. Dessert awaits!

AUDIOBOOK:

Anyone who listened to GOOD BOYS 1 and 2 knows that Tom Taylorson not only delivered an amazing performance, he brought the story to life, perfectly voicing the characters in iconic ways. And you can expect the same in Book 3. If you haven’t given audiobooks a try or stopped listening for some reason, I challenge you to listen to these books, performed by Tom, and not fall in love with the story.

THE STORY:

In a ravaged world, a former Army Ranger and his loyal Golden Retriever lead a desperate mission against an alien overlord, testing the bond between humanity…and their best friends.

Three months after the Draun invasion, the world is a wasteland. Cities lie in ruins, billions are dead, and civilization teeters on the brink. Micah Taylor, his loyal Golden Retriever, Grover, and their allies journey north through the devastation, guided by an underground resistance of dog-lovers. Their goal: Los Angeles, where they hope to unite with Praxion’s team and strike at the Draun’s heart in Tokyo, now the seat of the Visionary’s power.

Meanwhile, Praxion leads a team on a globe-spanning quest aboard their ship, the Prowler, hoping to restore a team member who has been unconscious since absorbing the ancient souls of the Lost Tribe. Instead, they awaken a new and ancient ally determined to aid in their fight against the Visionary and save the souls of their fallen comrades.

As these two courageous teams converge, they face not only the twisted telekinetic might of the Draun but also an army of nightmarish biologics and the Visionary himself. In this desperate battle for Earth’s survival, loyalties are tested, new alliances are forged, and the unbreakable bond between a man and his dog is pushed to its limits.

#1 Audible and New York Times bestselling author Jeremy Robinson delivers a heart-pounding conclusion to the Good Boys trilogy, blending epic battles, emotional depth, and unexpected humor. Good Boys – The Visionary is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the enduring power of friendship, love, and loyalty.

I listen to the audiobooks thus I didnt see the spelling, as such it took me until the beginning of book 3 to realize that Lumen Sok, the richest man in the world, is an anagram of Elon Musk, this is probably one of my favorite Easter eggs. I am only just starting book 3 but I can’t wait to finish it. Great trilogy.
